Here are a few pics I snapped just as the party got started (I had another picture of Keith wearing those party glasses and was thinking that I should maybe do a 'who wore it best' comparison but didn't want to stir up any bad blood between Ben and Keith and ruin Ben's chances with Sofia ;) )

Gina's dad arrived with the balloons and they were a hit, though the key was making sure the kids didn't take them outside :) Gina's sister, Mara, was there and took on the job of entertaining the kids outside while the hamburgers were BBQ'ing and she did a great job. She had some bubbles and that got their attention. The weather was great and they have a fabulous backyard so I was able to get some shots of the bday girl and her friends and cousins!

The birthday girl was LOVING the outdoors and the bubbles! She still has those signature cheeks we all love so much!

Sofia's cousins were there as well and she had a great time running around with them. So cute!

More fun with bubbles.

Some more shots of the beautiful birthday girl in her beautiful party dress!

Mara was a trooper trying to get the toddlers to all wait their turn for the bubbles (thankfully Sofia's cousins could show them how its' done!) and, for a brief second, even got them to line up!

Here are a few other shots of the babies at the party! Jacob was so exhausted that he fell asleep in Luca's bassinet!

Before Sofia headed off for her nap, Ben wanted to say goodbye and I was able to snap some pics of these two.

They are hilarious together and I love all of their little expressions with each interaction. I think that, finally by the last photo below, she seems to be warming up to him!

A few more shots of Luca and some of us meeting him for the first time!

These two put on a pretty great party for having a 4-day old and there were even delicious cupcakes!

Sofia enjoying some bday chocolate!

We feel super blessed by all of our SFU friends and the fact that we've all stayed close over more than 10 years of knowing each other, everyone moving to various parts of the lower mainland and life getting super busy with 5 kids added over the past 2 years is simply a mark of God's grace and goodness. We are excited to continue sharing life with you guys and more than thrilled that our boys will get the opportunity to grow up with your kids.
Happy birthday to a beautiful 2 year old, congrats on your newest addition and can't wait for our yearly trek down to Birch Bay. Love you Whitakers!
